Update

I am reading Ender's Game. I am defiantly more involved with this reading than my previous. So far I really like the book, but I'm only to page 30. I have just learned that Ender has been chosen to go away to Battle School and he has accepted this invitation. I have four and a half hours of work to go so I should get far. I'm really not suppose to be reading for leisure only school material.

What kind of story should I write about? Who should I make the main character? Past or futuristic? Magical or not? You tell me.

My dear, thats where writing comes in. The character should be very much like you or someone you know, so that they seem real. And before you start writing you should think about this character, their family, their personality, their flaws and good points. The more real this person is to you, the more real they will be to the reader. I took a creative writing class thing once. He said to write about what you know. That doesnt mean it has to be real, but say there is a bar you went to in New Orleans that you liked, you could put that bar in New York and change the name, the point is, you have a real place that you can describe in detail.

Umm, and the character need to go on some kind of journey or have some kind of problem that arises. If its a journey, you'll need bad guys and/or problems and a goal, a reason for the journey. And by the end of the book the character should have grown in some way.

What do you like more past or futuristic? If you write about the past you have some kind of framework to start with, but might run into some accuracy problems. If you write future, you could make up whatever you want. Or Even another demention with its own time? Or even now? I like magical myself, but you should write about what you like. Remember that the magic can be anything you want, so long as its different from other peoples magic. Magic should have some kind of cost, like it makes them tired or doesnt always obey or hurts them or they have to study a long time or something. And it should never solve the major problems of the story, the character should work those out on his/her own.

There you go, miles and miles of useless advice.

you are great! hehe! I wouldn't call it useless. I have learned much. I believe I will figure out what to write about soon, but I have much thinking and planning until then. I love you!
